Dear Holley Business Association Members Past & Present,
At present, our Association seems to be at a stand still and we are interested in learning why.  We are communicating with you in hopes of receiving feedback regarding your HBA membership.  Would you take a minute to answer the following questions:

1.  Are you still interested in participating in the HBA?
2.  Why did you discontinue participation?
3.  If interested in continuing participation, how would you like to participate, share, and meet?

Please reply to: wholeapproach@gmail.com

Warm Regards,
Karen Blank, CPT

The Village of Holley is interested in applying for the New York State Main Street (NYMS) grant through the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation and is currently gauging interest of local businesses and property owners in participating in the program. The purpose of this program is to stimulate reinvestment in properties located in mixed-use commercial districts in small towns within New York State.

Specifically, the NYMS program provides matching funds to assist communities with their downtown revitalization efforts to:

  • Stimulate economic revitalization of mixed-use business centers in small town areas
  • Foster small business development
  • Expand affordable housing opportunities in mixed-use districts
  • Address issues of code enforcement, energy efficiency, Americans with Disabilities Act, and fair housing

Open Letter from Village of Holley

Dear Business Owner,

As you may be aware, the Village of Holley has begun preparation of a Comprehensive Plan.  The Plan, based on community input, will establish a vision and set of objectives and actions that will help guide decision-making in the Village over the next 10-15 years.  Topics addressed within the Plan include economic development, infrastructure, housing, historic preservation, tourism, and recreation.

I am writing to invite you to participate in this exciting project. The Village recognizes that its success is tied directly to the support and involvement of a dedicated group of citizens, community groups, business owners, and community leaders.  In particular, the Holley Business Association’s involvement will be crucial to improving the economic climate in the village.  We need your help!

Enclosed is our first draft of the Vision and Implementation section of the Plan, based on community input we’ve received during this process.  You will see that many of the actions rely on the involvement of the Holley Business Association for realization.  Although we understand that the HBA is a relatively new organization, its involvement throughout the planning and implementation process will establish the HBA as a key community stakeholder and boost participation through targeted projects.  We hope that you will take the time to review the draft document and provide feedback.

Additionally, we invite you to remain involved throughout the remainder of the process, either by reviewing draft documents (available on the Village’s website) and/or attending future public meetings.  The next scheduled Public Workshop will focus on land use and design, and is scheduled for March 23 at the Holley Elementary School. See the enclosed flyer for more information. We look forward to having your business represented!

Please visit the Village of Holley website to learn more.  Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.  We look forward to working with you to navigate the Village of Holley towards a bright and healthy future.

On behalf of the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and Village Board,

John Kenney, Jr.
Mayor of Holley

Thank you for inquiring about the Holley Business Association (HBA). The HBA was created in March 2005 with the purpose of providing an arena for information and promotion of local businesses in the Village of Holley and in the Town of Murray. It is the HBA’s mission to promote growth and longevity for existing business and to create a welcoming and helpful atmosphere to facilitate future business ventures.

The HBA is a non-profit association operating as a sub-unit of the Orleans County Chamber of Commerce (OCCC). Membership is open to business owners who live and/or operate their businesses in the Village of Holley or in the Town of Murray, as well as local school and government organizations.

Meetings are held monthly on the third Wednesday of each month at noon in the meeting room of the Holley Community Free Library. Non-members are welcome to join us.  Annual membership is $50.00 with payment due by April 30th of each year.

If you would like more information or have any questions please feel free to contact us.  For the latest in news and upcoming events, click on the News & Events page.  Once again, thank you for your interest.  We hope to see you at our next meeting!
